Community & Environment
Junior High School is an exciting gateway to high school. During this time of mental and physical change, we endeavor to create a safe and nurturing experience where each child learns the immeasurable blessings of God's grace and of being a valued member of the school community.
With Scripture as our guide, we partner with parents to help students grow spiritually, academically, physically, and emotionally. The learning environment is lively, yet structured. The curriculum includes Bible, Math, English, American History, Geography, Science, and Physical Education. In each academic content area, teachers employ meaningful learning opportunities that foster critical thinking, reasoning skills, and that engages each student in an academic experience that is both content rich and comprehensive in scope.
Our faculty are qualified, experienced, and caring teachers who create a challenging and loving learning environment for their students. In addition to their faithfulness, servant-hearted devotion, and professionalism, they are trained to use technology to strengthen instruction and to enhance understanding.
Beyond the Classroom
Our students enjoy many social, athletic, and service opportunities. A few annual highlights include our back-to-school party every August and our Winter Banquet in January, which features fellowship, food, and great entertainment with a formal flair. Showcase is another exciting and popular event our students look forward to every year. Showcase is a student-led, school wide "variety show" that celebrates the wide spectrum of gifts God has blessed each student with, from technical and administrative to dramatic and artistic. Throughout the year, our students also enjoy a wide range of athletic programs, including volleyball, basketball, football, track, cross country, and tennis. Along with these and numerous other activities, our students are afforded several special opportunities to serve the Lord throughout our community. Every year we have a service day on each of our campuses, serve sister churches throughout Birmingham, and work closely with an inner city ministry where the students are blessed to serve meals, clean facilities, and distribute food.
