Briarwood Christian School Names David Keith Director of Transportation

Briarwood Christian School is pleased to announce the hiring of David Keith as the school’s Director of Transportation.
David brings more than 35 years of experience in the transportation industry, having served in nearly every area of the profession. Throughout his career, he has worked as a driver, trainer, terminal manager, fleet manager, safety professional, operations leader, and director. This broad experience has given him a comprehensive understanding of transportation operations, including safety, compliance, fleet management, personnel development, and daily operations.
David has developed a passion for building strong teams and helping people succeed. He believes effective transportation is ultimately about people, from developing and supporting employees to working together toward the common goal of providing safe, dependable service to the families entrusted to their care.
David is also a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, where the values of discipline, leadership, accountability, teamwork, and service became principles that continue to shape his professional and personal life. He is a graduate of Hooper Academy in Hope Hull, Alabama, and attended Auburn University at Montgomery.
At the center of David's life is his Christian faith. He describes his faith as the foundation that guides the way he leads, serves, and cares for others. That commitment to faith and service aligns closely with Briarwood’s mission to develop leaders who seek to glorify Christ in every sphere of life.
“We are thankful to God for bringing David to Briarwood,” said Mr. Jay Mathews, Chief Operations Officer. “He has led transportation operations of tremendous size and scope, and that experience is going to serve our school and our families well. But just as important to me is who David is. He loves the Lord, he knows how to lead people, and he understands that the work we do is ultimately about serving others. I believe he is a great fit for Briarwood, and I am excited to have him on our team.”
He and his wife, Leslie, have been married for 27 years and have three children: Cameron, Richard, and Caroline. Family has remained one of the most important influences in his life and a driving force behind the way he approaches both work and service.
Outside of work, David enjoys physical training and staying active, college football, and spending time with his family. He has also developed a love for baking sourdough bread, a hobby that allows him to slow down, be creative, and bring people together.
David comes to Briarwood with a commitment to faith, family, hard work, service, and continued growth. He believes in treating people with respect, taking pride in his work, and standing behind the work that bears his name.
Briarwood Christian School is grateful to welcome David and Leslie to the Briarwood community and looks forward to the leadership, experience, and spirit of service he will bring to the school’s Transportation Department.
