Briarwood Christian School Names Will Tarter Athletics Administration & Operations Coordinator

Briarwood Christian School is pleased to announce the hiring of Will Tarter as the school's new Athletics Administration and Operations Coordinator, a role that will support the day-to-day operations for the Lions. His responsibilities will include game day operations, event logistics, communication with visiting schools, and administrative support for all Briarwood athletic programs.
A 2020 Briarwood graduate and 2024 Auburn University graduate, Tarter returns to his alma mater after serving in multiple leadership roles at Camp Ozark, one of the nation's premier Christian summer camps. During his time at Camp Ozark, he directed large-scale athletic competitions for more than 1,200 campers each week, supervised college-aged staff, coordinated complex event logistics, managed safety protocols, and led year-round recruiting efforts that helped Auburn University become the camp's top recruiting institution.
"Will brings an exceptional combination of leadership, organization, and servant-hearted ministry to this position," said Sara Wilson, Briarwood Christian School Athletics Director. "His experience coordinating large events, developing leaders, and managing operations in a fast-paced environment makes him uniquely qualified to serve our coaches, student-athletes, and families. Just as importantly, Will understands Briarwood's mission because he lived it as a student. We are excited to welcome him home."
As Athletics Administration and Operations Coordinator, Tarter will oversee game day logistics, coordinate officials, support athletic communications, manage event operations, and help ensure Briarwood's athletic facilities and equipment are prepared for competition. He will also serve as game day administrator and work alongside coaches and staff to provide a first-class experience for student-athletes and visiting schools.
"I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to return to Briarwood and serve a school that has had such a significant impact on my life," said Tarter. "The Lord has used my experiences at Camp Ozark to develop my leadership, organizational, and operational skills, and I'm excited to apply those lessons to support Briarwood Athletics. I look forward to serving our coaches, student-athletes, and families while helping continue the tradition of excellence that defines Briarwood."
Tarter earned a Bachelor of Science in Animal and Allied Industries from Auburn University. He and his wife Ellie were married in March 2026, and they are excited to return home to Birmingham closer to their families.
