The sixty-year history of Briarwood Christian School is an incredible story of God’s amazing grace. He has used BCS to impact countless lives, both locally and globally, through students who have been equipped to bear fruit for His kingdom in various walks of life including businessmen and women, educators, pastors, missionaries, doctors, and attorneys, to name a few.

I stand in awe at what the Lord has done when I reflect back on the beginning of BCS. We had just moved into our first church building on Highway 280 when we started with only a kindergarten and first grade. The next year we had six grades with each teacher teaching two grades. The following year we were able to fill up all six grades with a teacher for each grade. After that, we added a grade a year through twelfth grade. Like the parable of the mustard seed, the Lord has used these humble beginnings to help advance His Kingdom around the world.

The Lord faithfully provided us with outstanding teachers, principals, and superintendents over the years. We continually sought His blessing, guidance, and provision through united, persistent prayer, and He never failed us. He worked in hearts over the years to provide property, buildings, sports facilities, and fields. All of these He used to develop servant-hearted, gifted, and equipped leaders. Many have received various scholarships over the years. Many of these now have their children enrolled at BCS in order for them to have that same opportunity.

The only words adequate for all of these blessings are these,

"To God be the glory, great things He has done." Frank M. Barker, Jr.

"To God be the glory, great things He has done."   Frank M. Barker, Jr.

As the Senior Pastor of Briarwood Presbyterian Church, I stand in amazement of what has been accomplished, in adoration of our Lord by whose wisdom and strength every achievement has been allowed, and with great anticipation of what the God of Glory and grace will yet do with a school whose leaders and students are surrendered to the majesty of our Savior's Kingdom.  Dr. Harry L. Reeder, III
