BCS Basketball coaches Bobby Kerley, Jeremy Mears and Lorie Kerley will join together to teach fundamental basketball skills such a shooting, dribbling, passing, rebounding and defense that each camper can use to improve his or her game.

Players will be divided by age and ability, and adjustable goals will be incorporated. This camp is suited for the beginner, experienced and more advanced player. 

Campers should bring a sack lunch and we provide the Powerade! The camp concession stand will also offer pizza and hotdogs, sports drinks and snacks for purchase. A camp bank is also available for your child. Don't forget to mark your tee-shirt size on the registration form.

Each athlete will receive a t-shirt.

Youth Softball Camp

The BCS Softball staff will create a fun, challenging camp experience for young players at all levels. Briarwood Youth Softball Camp is a great way to introduce the game of softball as well as sharpen experienced skills in hitting, fielding, and throwing. 

Campers should bring a water bottle, glove, and any additional softball gear they own such as bats and batting helmets. Register before June 24th to receive a camp shirt!

Led by Briarwood teachers, each week of camp will feature an engaging theme designed to include hands-on enrichment appropriate for each grade level.

Campers should bring a sack lunch, a water bottle, and two snacks. Rising JK students will need a nap mat for rest time. 
You may select one week at a time or every week.

Cancellation of a camp reservation requires a 7-day notice. The registration fee is non-refundable.

Camp Briarwood is a Christian camp for boys and girls, designed to offer summer adventures your child will never forget. The camp is operated by Quest Recreation, a sports and recreation ministry with a global reach under the supervision of Briarwood Presbyterian Church in Birmingham, Alabama.   
 
Since its beginning in 1964, Camp Briarwood has been a place of life-changing experiences and growth for as many as 1,000 children each summer. The camp provides an atmosphere where the physical and the spiritual blend together. Each weekly session of camp includes Bible discussions, stories, songs and chapel services to help each child grow in their relationships with God and others.

It takes Director Scott Hannah and the staff team at least 5 months each year to plan and operate camp.  Counselors are school teachers, college students, senior high school students, and junior high age counselors-in-training.  Typically 75% of the counselors each summer have been counselors in prior years.  We have some counselors who have worked for 9 years at camp, starting as counselors-in-training and working throughout their college years!

Camp is held in two locations.  Day Camp is held at  Camp Kanawahala in Chelsea, Alabama.  Overnight Camp is held at YMCA Camp Chandler in Wetumpka, Alabama.  Both camps have picturesque grounds for all kinds of fun.  Depending on the camp, kids get to experience activities such as hiking, swimming, canoeing, riflery, archery, arts and crafts, horseback riding, sailing, skiing, and high ropes course.
