Elementary
"Learning occurs in a nurturing, challenging, and affirming Christ-centered environment using instructional methods suited for varied learning styles." Tasha Holiday, Elementary School Principal
Tremendous growth and excitement about learning characterize the elementary years. Students grow in academic skills, social understanding, biblical knowledge, and independence in studies.
Students enjoy a deep and innovative academic program that includes Bible, the Foundations & Frameworks Reading Program, math, spelling, creative writing, social studies, and science. The elementary program is enriched with music, art, Spanish, band, library skills, computer, science lab, 2:52/iLab enrichment class, and physical education. Opportunities for differentiated enrichment are available for students who meet the criteria. These include math compacting within classrooms, our Challenging Investigations and Explorations program, and advanced math placement in sixth grade.
Critical thinking skills that examine academics and life experiences from a biblical perspective are promoted. All subjects are framed in biblical truth and challenge students to use their God-given abilities to glorify Him.
The Lower Campus technology goal is to maintain an appropriate balance between traditional instruction and technology use. We want to limit screen time, while also providing an appropriate amount of experiences to engage and equip students to serve in the world in which they live.
Elementary teachers are highly qualified and participate regularly in professional development opportunities. They embrace a biblical model for instruction and discipline as they instruct and equip students for future service in God’s kingdom.
