Cross Country
“I do not run aimlessly . . . but I discipline my body and keep it under control.” I Corinthians 9:26-27
The Cross County teams at Briarwood have a long history of top performances in the State of Alabama. The Boys Cross Country team has won three State Championships, three Runners-up titles, and had 40 All-State Runners, while the Girls Cross County team has won one State Championship, three Runners-Up titles, numerous Third Place finishes, and 44 All-State runners.
While running Cross Country can be the basis of a healthy lifestyle and the source of many great memories, it also produces a spiritual discipline; teaching the runner that their mind and will can keep the body in control. Our goal is not to produce elite runners but better followers of Christ.
