Briarwood students have opportunities to take learning beyond the classroom through educational travel experiences across the United States and around the world, connecting academics, culture, history, STEM, language, and discovery.

Travel gives students the chance to connect classroom learning with real places, people, cultures, and experiences. From class traditions within the United States to international academic adventures, these experiences are designed to build independence, curiosity, confidence, and a broader understanding of the world.
Students can experience American history firsthand in Boston, explore glaciers and renewable energy in Iceland, or practice language skills while experiencing art, history, and culture in France and Spain.

Mission Travel
Guatemala 2027
Registration is now open for Briarwood's 2027 mission trip to Huehuetenango, Guatemala. Since 2002, BCS has partnered with the local church and Christian school Tabernacle de la Fe to support its ministry in the community.
Each year, Briarwood teams serve through medical, vision, sports, children's, and construction and site-improvement ministries. As we continue this longstanding partnership, we invite students and families to join us in serving alongside Tabernacle de la Fe and making God's name great in Huehue.

Registration & Important Dates
Registration deadline: September 25
- Complete the online registration form.
- Submit your completed application, notarized form, and deposit check to the HS Fishbowl Office by September 25.
- Place all materials in a folder labeled with your name and secure the application packet with a paper clip rather than staples.
Informational Meeting:
September 10 at 6:30 p.m. in the Library

Past Adventures

Past trips give students the opportunity to experience classroom learning in entirely new contexts.
Japan STEM Expedition 2026
Innovation, engineering, history, and culture in action.
Our students explored Japan's unique blend of innovation, engineering, history, and culture through visits to Nissan's manufacturing plant, JAXA's space research facilities, KEK's particle accelerator, robotics labs, the Maglev Exhibition Center, and the world-famous Shinkansen bullet train.
They also experienced traditional Japanese culture through temples, shrines, a tea ceremony, local cuisine, and time spent exploring Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, and Yokohama. Along the way, students embraced new experiences, asked thoughtful questions, formed new friendships, and gained a deeper appreciation for the world around them.
Next stop: Iceland. Our Summer 2027 STEM Expedition will explore volcanoes, glaciers, geothermal energy, and one of the world's most fascinating natural laboratories.
